Vent: Bought a 'vintage' leather jacket that turned out to be a total fake

Spent $75 on it at the swap meet, and the 'leather' started peeling like a bad sunburn after two wears. The stitching was glued, not sewn. Anyone know how to spot a fake jacket before you buy?

Vintage at a swap meet" is the real problem here, not the jacket. You get what you pay for.

Ever read that article about how swap meet vintage is basically a gamble? Some sellers are great, but a lot of stuff is just overpriced junk they found in a bin. You really have to know what you're looking for or you'll get burned. It's not like buying from a trusted dealer who checks for damage.

Yeah, I used to think "you get what you pay for" was just snobby talk...
