My boss regifted my secret Santa present back to me the next year.
It was the same ugly sweater I bought for him.

That sweater really made the full circle back to you.

Read this piece about fashion cycles and it mentioned sweaters making a comeback. They said stuff from the late 90s is huge right now, like those chunky knit cardigans. It's kind of funny to see things we wore as kids being trendy again. I remember my mom trying to donate my old sweaters and now I wish I kept them. The article argued that nostalgia drives a lot of these trends, which makes sense. Honestly, it feels like we're just recycling styles because nothing new is left.

Oh man, my friend just went through this. She found one of those huge cardigans at a thrift store last week, the exact kind her older sister had in like '98. She paid way more for it now than it cost back then, which is wild. It totally lines up with what you're saying, @henderson.val, about nostalgia running the show. She said wearing it feels like a weird time warp, but in a cool way. Makes you wonder what's next, maybe those super low rise jeans from the early 2000s?
