I just got why my mom always played that weird folk album when we cleaned the house.

Wonder what made that album her cleaning soundtrack. Was it just the timing, or did it connect to a specific memory for her?

Did your mom pick it because the songs are all the same length? A lot of those old folk albums have songs that are about three minutes each, so it can time your cleaning sessions. It kind of turns the whole job into a little game.

You know what would happen if I tried that? I'd clean for one three minute song, then get way too into the next track and just stand there air-guitaring to some fiddle part. Suddenly I'm deep in a fake concert, dust rag as a microphone, and the bathroom's still a mess. My version of the game is seeing how many chores I can ignore before the album ends.
