inWatched a guy ruin a hoof in 20 seconds with a grinder
My old boss used a grinder on a mare once and she kicked a hole in his truck door.

Does that $150 a month deal include coffee refills, @piperr58?

inOld dev at a coffee shop taught me to write code for the next person reading it
Totally agree with you. I spent a week last month trying to untangle some old code I wrote for a side project, and it was pure misery. I didn't document anything or use clear variable names, and my future self paid for it big time. Now I always write comments and use names that actually make sense, even if it takes an extra five minutes.

inTried meal planning by category instead of by day
Oh totally this is the only way that works for me now! I started doing the same thing last year where I just stock up on like chicken thighs, bell peppers, onions, and a few sauces then throw stuff together based on how I'm feeling that night. Way less stressful than staring at my fancy meal plan on Wednesday knowing I have to make something that takes an hour when I just want tacos. I still keep a loose idea of what I'll cook but the freedom is such a game changer.

inThat whole idea of cashing out while rates are low isn't always the right move
Oh geez, I totally get where you're coming from with this. I was actually looking at a cash out refi on my place a few months back because I wanted to replace the old windows and the numbers seemed fine on paper at first. But then I looked closer... and realized the closing costs alone were like 6 grand, and that's money I'd never see again. My sister did a cash out on her house in Denver and now she's kicking herself because she used the money for a new deck and now her payment is way higher than she thought it would be. It's like, you think you're getting ahead but really you're just borrowing tomorrow's money today and paying extra for it. Sometimes the best move is just to save up slower and keep your rate locked in.
