inChecked out that old library in Salem and found a book bound with what looked like old wallpaper paste.
Honestly, wallpaper paste sounds about right for a cheap old binding... it's probably not some secret magic glue. They used whatever was on hand back then.

inMy dried bean disaster turned into a frugal cooking wake-up call
Oh man, this is so true! My friend tried to make her own sourdough starter last year. She got so mad when it wasn't ready in two days. She ended up throwing the whole jar out in a fit, calling it a "science project gone wrong." It's exactly like @michael_bennett11's lentil bricks story. We expect cooking to be fast like everything else, and when it's not, we feel like we failed.

inCan we talk about the moment you realized you were overpacking tech?
My buddy bought a second laptop just for streaming sports while he works. He said his work computer blocked the sites and his phone screen was too small. Ended up spending like $800 just to watch football on the side, totally nuts.

inTrying to find the name of a show from my childhood took me almost two years
Totally get that. I spent like twenty minutes last night trying to remember the name of that actor from the old sci-fi show, you know, the one with the robot? Gave up and watched cat videos instead.

inA client told me my AI tree health reports were too technical for homeowners
My buddy Mike runs a small drone survey company for farms. He built this detailed AI model that spat out soil nitrogen levels in parts per million. The first farmer he showed it to just stared and asked if his field was hungry or full. Mike realized he was giving a science test, not an answer. Now his report just says "low," "good," or "high" with a simple fertilizer tip. That shift made all his clients actually use the info.
