He told me he learned more in his first 6 months sweeping floors than most kids do in 2 years of trade school, and now I'm wondering if formal training is really worth the cost or if we should just pair everyone with a mentor instead.
Ordered this fancy kit for discussing mystery novels - thought it'd have discussion cards and maps. Opened the package and it was literally a 5-page PDF I could've printed myself for free. Has anyone else gotten burned by these overpriced book club packs?
My kitchen sink was backing up real slow for a week. Didn't want to call a plumber that costs $150 minimum. Grabbed this cheap plastic drain snake from Family Dollar for $5. Pulled out a massive wad of grease and food bits in about 4 minutes. Totally fixed the problem and saved myself a service call. Has anyone else had luck with those cheap tools over the expensive ones?
Met this guy Bill outside REI in Portland who said my $80 Kelty bag would be fine for summer car camping as long as I got a liner. I was skeptical since everyone online hypes the expensive down bags. Three trips to Olympic National Park later and I've slept totally fine in temps down to 45°F. Has anyone else found that buying gear based on random strangers beats the forums?
