Guy at a shop in Flagstaff told me my shackle mounts were backwards and now my whole front end is different
I ran my front shackle mounts flipped for probably 3 years on my old YJ. Thought they were fine since it flexed okay on the trail. Then a guy at a shop in Flagstaff looked at it for 10 seconds and said the shackle was binding at full droop, not moving like it should. I pulled the leafs and redid the mounts the right way over a weekend, plus added a 1 inch anti-wrap bar while I was in there. Went from 8 inches of travel to just over 11 out back, and the steering stopped wandering on the highway. Nobody on the forums ever said anything in all that time, which is wild. Anyone else get called out by a total stranger and end up redoing a whole suspension setup because of it?
