Solved my death wobble with a $12 part after throwing $400 at the front end
My 2001 Jeep WJ had death wobble so bad above 45 mph that I was scared to drive it on the highway. I replaced the track bar, tie rod ends, and steering stabilizer, spent around $400 total, and it still shook like crazy. A guy at the parts counter in Tulsa asked if I had checked the bolt torque on the track bar mount, and turns out my factory bolt was wallowed out so a new $12 grade 8 bolt and nut fixed the whole thing. Two weeks of chasing the wrong problem. Anyone else been fooled by a worn out mounting bolt before?
