TIL my front coil spacers were fighting my bump stops and I only caught it after a night run near Grand Junction
I was running 2 inch spacers up front and kept getting this harsh slam over washboard, so I figured my shocks were done. A guy in the next camp at Grand Junction walked over with a flashlight while I was unloading and asked why my bump stop and coil were basically kissing at ride height. Pulled the wheel, and sure enough I had maybe half an inch of travel before contact, so the spacer was eating the up travel I thought I had. If you're 4x4 building on spacer lift, get under there with a jack and check your bump stop gap before you spend anything on shocks. What's the smallest travel number you all are comfortable running before you call it a problem?
