I always thought my weekly spreads had to be perfect grids

Totally get that. I tried bullet journaling for a month and spent more time drawing straight lines than actually doing any of the habits.

My smartwatch told me I was asleep while I was making coffee

My watch did the same thing during the last Lord of the Rings movie. It kept logging my relaxed heart rate as sleep. I turned off the auto sleep tracking for the next movie night. Just manually logged my actual sleep later. It fixed the problem.

Just realized my kid thinks I'm a wizard at work

Magic hot metal" is a great way to put it. Did it make you want to show him the process?

Just hit 500 oil changes on my own personal log

That's a solid record. People track the weirdest stuff without even realizing it. My barber has a mark on the wall for every head shave, and my neighbor counts how many times he fills his bird feeder. It's a quiet way to make sense of all the small, repeat work we do. Makes the days add up to something.

Showerthought: my whole view on helping neighbors shifted after a single Tuesday at the community garden.

Honestly, that zip tie thing hits home. I was trying to load a huge, awkward tarp into my truck bed by myself in the rain last month, fighting with the wind. Guy walking his dog just stopped, grabbed two corners without a word, and we had it folded and stuffed in thirty seconds. He just nodded and kept walking. Changed my whole mood for the day. Sometimes you don't need a speech, you just need another pair of hands for a minute.
