Unpopular opinion: the old guy at the tire shop in Flagstaff said skip the 35s and regear, he was totally wrong for my rig
When I had my 2012 Tacoma on 33s, the shop owner told me not to bother regearing to 4.88s and just stay stock. I listened for about 4 months until my truck kept hunting for gears on I-17 near Camp Verde and getting 13 mpg. I finally dropped $1,800 on a regear and it felt like a whole new truck, better power and 17 mpg on the same drive. So yeah, that advice cost me time and gas money. What gear ratio are you all running with 35s on a 2nd gen Tacoma?
