Used to run 33s on my Tacoma now I'm wishing I went 35s from the start

I swapped from 33 inch KO2s to 35 inch KO3s last weekend on my 2016 Tacoma. Had the 33s for about 2 years and they were fine on forest roads but I kept getting stuck in deeper mud out near Tillamook. The 35s needed a cab mount chop and some CMC work which I did in my driveway with a grinder and a welder. Took me 3 tries to get the steering stop adjusted right so the tires don't rub at full lock. Anyone else make the jump to 35s and regret not doing it sooner?

I feel you on the steering stop adjustment. That was the most annoying part of my swap too. Had to pull the wheel off three times to get it right. In my experience the 35s really wake up the truck off road but you do pay for it on the street with more driveline vibration and worse gas mileage. If you're doing any kind of real off roading though the extra clearance is worth the hassle. Your mileage may vary but I would never go back to 33s now.

Man, tell me about it! I think I spent more time figuring out those steering stops than I did on the whole rest of the swap (and trust me, that's saying something). @blairj55 I swear by the time I got it right I had more lock washers than fingers left, which is a problem when you're trying to hold a wrench. Totally agree on the 35s though - my truck finally feels like it can actually crawl over stuff without scraping everything, even if it does shake my teeth out on the highway now. The gas mileage hit is real, but for me it's worth it since I'm out on trails more than pavement anyway. Never going back to 33s either, even if my wallet hates me for it.
