I keep seeing people say AI can't make new ideas, but my local library's new search tool proved them wrong.

Our town library in Cedar Falls just added an AI tool that helps you find books by describing a feeling you want, not just a genre. I typed 'a story that feels like finding a forgotten twenty dollar bill' and it gave me five perfect matches I'd never have found. The librarian said it's been running for two months and checkouts for its suggestions are up 30%. People act like these systems just copy old data, but this one clearly made a new link between ideas. Has anyone else found a small AI tool that actually surprised them with something new it did?

Wondering if it just got lucky with that one search.

Yeah, that's the classic tech demo magic. They show you the ONE time it worked perfectly, not the fifty times it gave total nonsense. Makes you wonder what's really going on behind the scenes.
