I spent 6 months using parchment paper in my air fryer before trying a silicone mat

Finally swapped to a silicone mat last week and my chicken wings actually got crispy instead of steaming. Has anyone else dealt with soggy food from using the wrong liner?

The silicone mat is definitely better than foil or parchment for crispy food, but one thing I found out the hard way - you still need to leave SOME space around the edges for air to flow, right @amybarnes? I used to pack my basket FULL thinking the liner would handle it, and it still trapped steam underneath everything. Even with the mat, I do a single layer of wings now and flip them halfway through, which gets them way crispier than when I tried stacking.

Did the same thing myself a few months back. I was using foil for everything and wondered why my veggies came out limp and wet. The silicone mat really changed things for me too, especially with frozen foods that need that direct heat.
