Saw air fryer uses more power than my microwave and it stopped me cold

I was looking at the wattage on my air fryer manual last night and it pulls 1500 watts just for a basket of fries. My microwave only uses 1100 watts for a full meal. Has anyone else checked the numbers and thought about switching when you're not pressed for time?

My neighbor's microwave shorted out last summer and he used his air fryer for everything for two weeks straight. Said his electric bill went up like twenty bucks and the fries still came out soggy half the time.

and honestly that's on him for not knowing his air fryer settings, cause once you figure out the preheat and the shake halfway through, fries come out pretty decent. my microwave died last spring and i ran on air fryer plus a cheap toaster oven for like a month, the electric bump was real but nowhere near twenty bucks, more like eight or nine. the trick is to not use it for tiny stuff, batch cook instead so you're not firing it up five times a day. also soggy fries usually means you overfilled the basket, gotta give them room to crisp up. tell him to grab one of those little silicone liners too, cuts down on cleanup and keeps the heating element from getting gross.
