inMy curved brick path ended up looking like a drunken caterpillar
When I helped my neighbor lay a stone walkway last spring, we had the same caterpillar issue on the first try. Our curve kept getting tighter until it almost looped back to his porch. Using a garden hose as a guide saved us from having to redo everything like you did. It's funny how these projects never go as planned, but that's what makes them memorable. Now every time I see a wobbly path, I picture a tipsy insect trying to find its way home.

inA simple radio routine turned a risky lift into a smooth one
Limited visibility is no joke. We had a crane operator once working in heavy fog, and he made us use hand signals WITH walkie talkies as backup for every single inch. Felt over the top until we realized he couldn't see the spotters past the first floor. That extra step saved a window frame.
