Unpopular opinion: You don't need to preheat an air fryer at all

Last month I threw a batch of frozen chicken wings straight into my air fryer cold and they came out just as crispy as any recipe that insisted on a 5-minute preheat, so has anyone else tested this or am I the only one who thinks preheating is just wasted time?

Preheated my air fryer for a solid 6 months before I realized I was just standing there watching it heat up like a total goofball. Tried throwing some frozen fries in cold once and they came out golden and perfect. Made me wonder if I've been wasting my life watching that little preheat light blink for nothing. Guess I'm just built different or maybe just lazy with crispy results.

Honestly, you're totally right. Tried it myself with some frozen tenders and they came out perfect without any warm-up. Ngl, preheating feels like a scam at this point.
