inI finally tried a 4-inch foam roller for sanding curves after using a block for a decade
It's just sanding, not rocket science lol. A block worked fine for ten years, so maybe that leg was just a tricky one. People get way too into gear talk sometimes.

inMy backup battery test kit gave me a false reading on a job in Springfield
Actually, that's the opposite of a calibration drift. If it showed full on a dead battery, the unit was reading voltage way too high. Classic drift makes it read low. Saw it all the time. A high reading like that usually means a failed component, not just calibration. Different kind of failure.

inSerious question, has anyone else had a customer's weird noise lead them to a totally different problem?
Man, that's the worst. Customers get so stuck on one idea they can't see the simple fix. Glad you found it before something really let go.

inMy creative writing teacher told me to cut all my adverbs and it ruined my style
My creative writing prof always said the best stories balance showing and telling. Sometimes you just need to say "he was angry" and move the plot along. Slaving over a metaphor for every single emotion kills the pacing.
