A lead at the hangar in Tulsa told me to stop trusting my torque wrench click
Ngl I was doing fuel line fittings on a 172 last month and one of the old leads watched me and said "you're letting the click be your god." He made me redo two fittings with a beam wrench just to feel the stretch, and one of them was actually under torqued by about 5 foot pounds even though the click felt right. I do a drag check on every click wrench before it goes on the plane now, and I log the calibration date right on the tag. The store wanted $180 for a calibration and I found a local shop that does it for $60, so there's no excuse. Has anyone else caught a click wrench going soft on them mid job, and what do you do to check it?
