Pro tip: That conversation about my workflow finally clicked

Close, but it's not exactly switching to rating by price bracket that does it. The real trick is understanding the price bracket's expectations. A 30 dollar pair of earbuds can be great for thirty bucks, but you don't compare them to a hundred dollar pair. You compare them to what else you can get for thirty dollars. That's the distinction that matters. It's about adjusting your whole frame of reference, not just the number you put on top.

Serious question about preheating chicken wings...

Preheated flats were crunchier for me too @oliver719, but not enough to go back.

I spent 6 months writing code without version control until I deleted a file by accident

It's wild how we tend to skip the boring safety nets until we get burned by something obvious like that. People drive without spare tires for years thinking it won't happen to them.

Hot take: a 15 minute voice demo saved me 40 emails on a project

Ha! So we're all just out here playing email ping pong when we could be talking into our phones like normal people. I'm genuinely surprised it took the industry this long to figure out that 2000 words of "clarifying questions" can't hold a candle to 30 seconds of "no, the purple widget goes in the left hole." But hey, at least we got to practice our passive aggressive email writing skills.

Tried resting my brisket for 3 hours instead of 1 and wow what a difference

Yeah you're basically getting a pseudo sous vide effect with the long rest. I've started doing the same thing after seeing a competition guy swear by it, now I won't go back. You ever try wrapping in butcher paper instead of foil for that part?
