Just realized the torque stripe I saw 6 months ago on a CRJ flap track is why I redo every sign off now
Walked the line at a regional hangar in Dayton and found a stripe someone slid over with a grease rag because the bolt never got its final pull. Now I put my initials on the stripe and clock the wrench myself before it leaves the gate. Anyone else catch a shortcut like that on a walk around?
Oh man, I read a NTSB report where a mechanic found a torque stripe painted over a stripped bolt head during a pre buy, scary stuff. Now I check stripes with my thumbnail on every walk around, learned that habit real quick.
