Hot take: I thought a cheap winch was fine until I needed it in a real spot

My buddy picked up a Warn EVO a couple years back for the same deal, around $800. He let it sit in his garage for six months before he even bolted it on, but once he did, it pulled his truck out of a mud hole twice already without a hiccup. Almost makes me wonder if the real win is paying half price for a tool you'll only need half the time.

Overheard a kid at my LCS say he only buys comics for the variant covers

Isn't variant collecting just gambling for people who don't like reading?

Switched from applying to 50 jobs a week to 5 targeted deep-dives after a recruiter told me I looked desperate

Wait wait wait. THREE callbacks from just 8 apps? That can't be right. I need to try this.

Finally got my first solo client after 3 months of assisting

Oh man, the shaky hands thing is SO real! I still get a little nervous sometimes but it gets way better. Pro tip: keep your tools on a towel not the counter so if you drop them they land soft and don't break. Also take a deep breath before you start applying the color, it helps steady your hand. The fact that you matched her color perfectly on your first solo is huge, that means you've got the eye for it. Most of the job is just confidence and practice, and the more you do it the less you'll shake. You got this.

Just realized CRTs weighed over 50 pounds on average

Completely agree with you @rileyl98, my old CRT monitor was basically a small fridge with a screen. I remember moving it to a LAN party once and my buddy asked if I was bringing the tower or the monitor because he couldn't tell the difference in weight. Honestly, people who whined about carrying those never had to do a deadlift just to set up their gaming station for the night. Ngl, if someone broke in I probably would've just thrown the monitor at them and called it self defense, no questions asked.
