My old shop lead swore by safety wire on every fastener, and I stopped doing it on the small stuff
When I started at a shop near DFW in 2011, my lead told me to safety wire everything down to the little access panel screws, and I figured he was just being old school. I skipped it on a few panels over the next couple seasons to save time, and then a panel popped loose on a taxi test at 12 knots and rolled under the nose gear. Do you guys wire the small stuff or is that just something your first lead drilled into you?
