That lead inspector's torque tip saved my butt on a 737 brake job
Old guy at my hangar in Fort Worth told me to always spin the nut back a quarter turn before torquing new brake hardware, I thought he was full of it. Tried it yesterday after a stubborn caliper bolt kept binding and the reading finally sat right at 190 ft-lbs, has anyone else gotten handed advice like this that seemed wrong but actually worked?
