Took 2 years but I finally got my torque wrench calibration spot on

Honestly I was chasing a 3% error on my main clicker for ages and it was driving me nuts. I spent last Saturday running 50 test clicks on a test rig at our shop in Denver and the variance finally dropped to under 0.5%. The fix was swapping out the internal spring assembly and giving it a proper lube with a lightweight oil. Has anyone else dealt with a stubborn torque wrench that just wouldnt hold calibration?

Is it really that serious though? I mean we're talking about a torque wrench here not a surgical instrument. A 3% error on a clicker seems like it wouldn't make or break most jobs honestly.

50 test clicks in one Saturday? That's insane man.
