Was my old lead being lazy or actually smart about the daily walkdowns?
My first lead at Republic Airlines in Tulsa walked the whole hangar before every shift for 30 minutes, wrote nothing down. The new lead skips the walk, just checks the logbook and goes straight to work. He's faster and the crews like him better, but we've already missed two small cracks on the same C-check that the old guy would've caught. Is the walkdown actually worth the time or is it just a comfort thing? Anyone else see this change in their shop after a lead swap?
