Switched from drilling pilot holes to self-tapping screws on metal door frames and cut install time in half
I was doing a 14-door commercial job in Phoenix last month and the old timer helping me showed me how to use self-tapping screws straight into the frame instead of drilling pilot holes first. We finished the whole building in 3 days instead of the 6 I had planned for, and the frames were just as solid. Has anyone else made the switch or do you still drill first for better control?
