Unpopular opinion: hiding wires behind baseboards is way overrated

I spent 3 hours at a house in Austin last week trying to fish wires behind baseboards for a retrofit alarm panel. Skipped it halfway through, grabbed a $10 pack of wire channels from Lowes, and painted them to match the trim. Customer couldn't even tell the difference. Anyone else ditch the hidden runs for speed?
