Wire pulled loose from a window sensor at 11pm in Euclid, had to MacGyver it
Was finishing a 14-zone job in Euclid when the homeowner called me back same night saying zone 6 kept tripping. Got there around 11pm and found the contact wire had pulled out of the tiny screw terminal on the window sensor, probably from the sash sliding rough. I had no spare terminal block on me, so I stripped a bit more jacket and wrapped the wire tight around the screw post, then hit it with a dab of hot glue so it wouldn't wiggle free. Held solid for the 3 weeks until I came back with the right part, hasn't tripped since. Anyone got a better trick for terminals that keep loosening on old double hungs?
