Decided to finally compare my usual Bosque trail loop against the east side of it

After 2 weeks of running the west side by the river every morning, I switched to the east side near the golf course and it's got way less loose gravel and better shade from the cottonwoods, so now I'm wondering if I've been torturing myself for nothing or if anyone else has a favorite stretch that just makes more sense.

Three miles into that east loop the cottonwoods thin out and the sun hits you right in the face with no river breeze to help. I've done both sides for years and the west gravel actually keeps my pace honest since I'm not constantly dodging golf balls. Give it another month when the leaves drop and tell me the east side still wins.

Wait, golf balls?? On the river trail?? Hold on, I've run that east loop for two summers and never once seen a golf ball. Are people actually out there slicing drives over the fence onto the path? That's wild. I gotta admit, that changes my whole picture of the west side. I thought it was just boring gravel and cow pastures, not a hazard course. Now I kinda wanna run it just to see if I can dodge a stray Titleist.
