Hate to say it but Old Town is way better than Nob Hill these days
I've been going to Nob Hill for drinks and food since 2019 but over the last 2 years it's gotten way too crowded and overpriced. Last week I paid $16 for a basic cocktail at a place on Central that was meh at best. Meanwhile I swung by Old Town last Saturday and had way better service and food at Casa de Ruiz for $12 a plate. Anyone else think the vibe shifted hard?

Wait is this the Casa de Ruiz on 4th street? Because I had almost the exact same experience. Went to Nob Hill last Friday for a friends birthday and couldn't even get a table at half the places without a 45 minute wait. Then we decided to just bar hop over to Old Town and ended up at some random spot called The Velvet Dog and the bartender actually remembered my drink order from like three months ago. Nob Hill used to be the spot but now it feels like everyone from the suburbs discovered it. Old Town still has that chill local vibe where people actually talk to you instead of just looking at their phones. I really think the whole food scene just moved south without anyone really admitting it yet.

I read somewhere that Old Town's actually got better rent prices, @rosek44.
