Warning: a guy at the Portland swap meet told me to stop polishing my camera bodies
I had a Canon AE-1 on my table in Portland and this older fella picked it up and said "you're scrubbing the paint right off this thing with that polish." I'd been going at every body with metal polish for months, thinking shiny meant clean and clean meant sold. He explained that the patina and wear marks are actually what buyers trust, and a rubbed-down body just looks like someone hid damage. I switched to a dry brush and a tiny bit of lighter fluid on the sticky spots only, and honestly my stuff moves faster now. What do you all use to clean a body without wrecking the finish?
