Pro tip: spent 5 hours on a single filler arc debate before I realized nobody was even arguing about the same episodes
So last weekend I got into it with a guy on a forum about whether Naruto's filler arcs are skippable, and I went in fully loaded with episode numbers and everything. I made a whole list, grabbed timestamps from the Land of Tea arc, pulled up the episode guide, the whole thing. Turns out he was watching the remastered cut and I was going off the original broadcast order, so our numbers were off by like 40 episodes the whole time. We argued for hours about stuff that didn't even line up. I felt so dumb when we finally figured it out. It made me realize how much anime talk online falls apart just because people are watching different versions and don't say so upfront. Now I always ask which release someone's on before I open my mouth. Does this happen to anyone else or am I just the guy who argues with strangers about episode lists that don't match?
