My neighbor gave me her compost bin after 6 months of trying, here's what changed my mind
Last April in Portland, my neighbor Maria handed me her worm bin after she moved out. She said it never smelled because she froze scraps first, which I thought was overkill. I tried it for a month and she was right, freezing kills the rot before it starts. Has anyone else found that freezing scraps is the real trick for apartment composting, or do you just layer browns heavily?
