A tech in Tulsa told me to stop shotgunning control boards, and he was right
I used to swap boards first on any no-cool fridge call because it was fast, until a guy in Tulsa watched me do it and said "you're just guessing with a $180 part." Now I ohm out the thermistors and check the defrost heater first, and last Tuesday that habit caught a $12 sensor that would've gotten me a callback. Anyone else have a senior tech break a bad habit like that?
Ten years of shotgunning boards and I once replaced three in a row on the same fridge before I finally tested the thermistor. The customer got a free board buffet that week. That Tulsa guy saved you a lot of callbacks.
