Finally dropped $650 on a good climbing saddle after years of cheap ones
I ran the same basic saddle for about 6 years, just patching the padding and living with the hip pinch on long removals. Last month I bit the bullet and got a proper ergonomic one from a local supplier near Boise. First full day in a white oak took me from sore by noon to actually finishing strong at 4 PM. The difference in hip support is night and day, but I'm curious if anyone else found it took a few weeks to adjust the leg strap tension just right?

Yeah, the leg strap tension took me a solid two weeks to dial in. I kept having to stop mid-climb and fiddle with it, especially on days when I had extra layers on. What finally worked was setting it snug while I was still on the ground, then doing a quick hang test a couple feet up to see if it pinched when I leaned back. If it dug in, I'd loosen it a hair before committing to the full climb. Also, check the buckle placement, if it sits too far forward it pulls weird on your hip. That white oak day sounds like a dream, my first proper saddle day in a big maple was the moment I realized all those years of patching was just stubbornness.
