Not sure if we should always rush storm damage cleanup

After the last big wind, I saw crews removing broken trees right away. But I've found that some leftover wood helps the soil and animals, so maybe we're too quick to clear sites completely. What's your take on balancing cleanup with ecological benefits?

Funny you mention that, I left a big broken limb in my backyard after a storm a few years back. It's full of beetles and birds pecking at it now, which totally changed my mind on neatness. Sometimes the best cleanup is just moving the dangerous bits and letting the rest be.
