My story just hit 50,000 words and I feel stuck about what to do next

Honestly, I have to disagree with @noahlane. Pushing to the end is the right move. You have momentum right now, and 50k is a huge win. If you stop to edit now, you might lose the thread of the story and never pick it back up. Get the whole messy draft down, even if parts feel thin. You can't fix a story that isn't finished. The real shape of it might only show up in those last 30k words.

Is it just me or does local meat deserve more credit in climate talks?

Yeah, but that methane check is just a snapshot. The real benefit of rotational grazing isn't about stopping the burps tomorrow, it's about building healthier soil that can actually pull carbon down over the long term. Carl's upgrade moved the manure piles to where they can do some good, feeding the grass instead of just sitting in a feedlot. It's a slow process, not a quick fix. The methane from the cows might be similar now, but the whole system gets better at handling it over years.

Back when my office waste bin was always full

I get what you're saying about it being better for the planet, but I'm not totally convinced. All those data centers and servers for our digital stuff use a huge amount of energy too. It just moves the problem somewhere we can't see it. Sometimes I wonder if the real answer is using less stuff overall, not just switching from paper to screens.

Appreciation post: Grocery store labels taught me about typography balance

Totally agree, it's like a secret code once you see it. @the_david has a point about it feeling like hiding, I've passed on so many products because I couldn't quickly tell if it was gluten-free. The good brands put that stuff right under the name in a clean, bold font, no hunting needed.
