A 40,000 year old piece of string from a cave in France just blew my mind
I saw on the Smithsonian site that the oldest known fiber fragment was twisted by hand 40,000 years ago, which is way older than pottery or farming. Does anyone know if that cord was used for fishing line, clothing, or something else?
