Cracked a Roman amphora handle during a site dig in Cirencester, and the trench supervisor just stared at me
I was cleaning around a 2nd century amphora handle last Tuesday at a dig site in Cirencester when my trowel caught an edge and snapped it in two. The trench supervisor said nothing for about ten seconds, then told me to bag both pieces and log the break in the context sheet, which somehow felt worse than getting yelled at. Has anyone else broken a find on site, and how did your supervisor handle it?
