Just realized that 'ancient' arrowhead I found in my backyard was actually a lawnmower blade chip

Found this thing near my garden last Saturday, swore it was a legit Native American artifact from 800 AD, but then my neighbor pointed out the fresh metal scratches and I felt like a total fool. Has anyone else been absolutely sure about a find that turned out to be something boring?

Aw man that's rough lol. I've totally been there thinking I found something ancient only to realize it was just trash from like 20 years ago.

Wait, 20 years ago? That's 2004, not ancient. That's like finding a flip phone in the woods and calling it an artifact. Man, I dug up a whole "colonial" bottle once, got all excited, took it to a guy who just laughed and said it was a 90s soda bottle with the label rotted off. Felt like such a fool.
