Almost slid off Route 112 near Woodstock in December, so now I check the road reports before I even start the car
Hit black ice on a curve around 6am and my truck did a full spin into the snowbank, walked away fine but it scared me good. Now I check the 511 site every single morning in winter, does anyone else have a route they just refuse to drive after a freeze?

Route 112 in December is basically a luge track with worse lighting. My uncle spun out on that same stretch years ago and now he drives 40 minutes out of his way just to avoid it, which is funny until you realize he's probably right. Black ice at 6am doesn't care how good your tires are or how many winters you've driven through. Glad you walked away from that one, trucks can be replaced but you can't.
