Why does nobody talk about how different the diner crowds are in Conway since the fall
I used to walk into the Sunrise Diner on Route 16 around 8am on a Saturday and grab any booth I wanted, now there's a 25 minute wait and half the tables are folks from Massachusetts who moved up full time. Same thing at the place in North Conway, the regulars who ran the counter for 20 years are gone and it's all new faces. Has anyone else noticed the local spots getting slammed since more people started working remote up here?

Everybody blames remote work but nobody mentions the Airbnb boom in the Mount Washington Valley, all those old family camps got turned into short term rentals so the folks who used to live here year round got priced out and the ones left are the newcomers. The diners aren't just seeing new faces, they're seeing the last of the old ones leave.
