Why does nobody talk about how dusty March is in NH?

I moved here from Ohio last year and everyone warned me about mud season, but nobody mentioned the dust. I swept my porch twice in one week in early March and the filter on my furnace was clogged after 10 days. Is this just a Concord thing or does the whole state turn into a dirt bowl before the snow melts?
