I finally compared my old telescope photos to stacked ones, no contest

I took the same nebula shots from my 8 inch dob back in March and reprocessed the raw frames with a free stacking program over the weekend. The single exposure looked flat and grainy, but the stacked version showed the dust lanes clearly. It took me about 20 minutes to watch a tutorial and run through 40 frames. Has anyone else had that moment where the software did more work than the scope?
