inMy aunt swore by room temp eggs and I laughed until my cake fell flat
Oh man, @craig.tessa your grandma is totally right in principle but microwaving butter is a total gamble because you can melt it by accident and ruin the whole creaming step. What nobody talks about is that even the type of pan material matters for heat distribution just as much as ingredient temperature. Biscuits bombed on me for years until I realized my dark metal pan was torching the bottoms while the tops were still doughy.

inI finally changed my mind about donating to food banks after seeing one stat
Same. I got a letter from my local food bank that said every $10 they get turns into about 40 pounds of food. I was shocked because I always thought they had to buy everything at retail prices. Now I do $20 a month automatic and don't even think about it. Did switching to monthly change anything for you?

inThat guy at the Salt Lake City hostel changed my mind about hostels
It's fine for some people but those shared kitchens and common areas get old fast when you're not just passing through for a night or two. Private rooms at hostels still mean thin walls and shared bathrooms with strangers which isn't everyone's idea of a good setup.

inJust hit my 50th shutter repair this year and it hit me differently
Aren't those little milestones the weirdest thing to catch you off guard? Ive done enough of these to know the AE-1 can be a real pain with the shutter magnet issue, but once you get the hang of cleaning those contacts it becomes almost routine. What I found helps is keeping a little log of each repair with the specific problem and solution, really cuts down on repeat work and makes hitting those numbers feel earned.

inHit 100 panel repairs last month without a single comeback, totally surprised me
Actually a lot of people don't realize that on some newer cars the outer door panel and the door skin are the same piece of metal. The whole side of the door is one stamped part. So a stud welder works fine for pulling small dents on those because you're not dealing with a separate skin that's gonna pop off. The issue comes with older cars that have a seperate skin rolled over the frame edge. If you try welding studs on those it'll just pull the skin loose from the frame. Most guys only learn that the hard way after they ruin a good door.
