My neighbor's comment about her work uniform got me thinking

Do they test these things on mannequins that just stand there?

Trying to join a client call from a beach in Bali was a mistake

I was on a team call last year where someone tried to present from a cafe and the audio was just wind and espresso machines. Parker_harris14 has a point about planning. If you know you have a key meeting at noon, setting up somewhere quiet is just part of being ready. It often is a choice, not an emergency. Making your coworkers listen to waves crashing while you talk about quarterly reports is a bit unfair.

Vent: A bride's mom told me I 'saved the day' after her updo fell apart

Always thought those kits were a waste of space until I had a button come loose at a wedding. @terryallen is totally right about clear thread being a quick fix. I keep one in my bag now.

Tbh, I was shaping my goblet stems wrong for two years until a workshop in Portland

Two years of wrong stems, that's a serious dedication to a bad technique.

Silencing my home's ductwork turned out to be simpler than I ever imagined.

Wait, you just used regular foil tape and foam? I was convinced you needed some special contractor grade sealant that costs a hundred bucks a tube. That's wild it was that simple. I've been putting off dealing with my own rattling vents for months because I thought it was a whole big thing. @the_sean has a point about the bills too, my heating costs are stupid high and I bet half the warm air is just hanging out in the attic. Might finally try this next weekend.
