Saw Saturn through a telescope at a county fair and it messed with my head

Last summer at the Dane County Fair in Wisconsin, this old guy named Bob let me look through his 8-inch Dobsonian. I was just standing there eating a corn dog and he waves me over. He pointed it at Saturn and I almost dropped my corn dog, I swear I could see the rings clear as day. Has anyone else had that moment where you see a planet with your own eyes and it suddenly feels way too real?
