Been seeing a lot of fresh guys skip sanding between primer coats lately
I was at a shop in Detroit last month helping a buddy out, and this new kid kept laying down primer over primer without even hitting it with 400 grit. The paint started lifting after two weeks on a Chevy Silverado hood. Anyone else noticing more short cuts like this on the floor?

Did you try talking to the kid about it before the paint lifted? I had a similar deal with a guy I was showing the ropes to a couple years back, and I found the best way was to actually walk him through the process step by step with him holding the block so he could feel what good sanding was supposed to feel like. It slowed me down for a day but after that he didn't skip it again.

That "feel what good sanding was supposed to feel like" is the part I'd push back on a little. A lot of these kids just don't have the patience for that kind of hands-on teaching and would rather take shortcuts anyway, no matter how slow you go.
