My team thinks I'm wrong for skipping paint blend on small dents
At my shop, the crew often blends paint for any repair. I skip it for minor dents when the color match is on point. How do y'all deal with similar debates at your place?

Well actually, the color can look perfect under the shop lights but really show up outside in the sun. That's why blending the area around the dent is the safe move. It helps hide any tiny difference in how the paint looks on the curve of the panel. Your team might have a point about keeping things consistent.

Reminds me of when I painted my living room... looked great inside but turned out a totally different shade in the daylight. Ended up having to do the whole wall over again.

But come on, is blending paint for every tiny dent REALLY needed? If the color match is perfect, why waste time on extra steps? I've seen plenty of jobs where skipping the blend looked just fine. Your team might be used to doing it one way, but that doesn't make it the only way. This feels like making a big deal out of nothing. Trust your eye and save the effort for when it actually matters.
