PSA: watch what 5 years of parking under oak trees does to a clear coat
A customer dropped off a 2016 Tacoma last week that lived outside under oak trees its whole life. The hood and roof looked sandblasted, not from rocks but from 5 years of acorn strikes and sap baking in the sun. I ran my hand over the passenger side and it felt like 220 grit sandpaper, way worse than the driver side which sat closer to the garage. Clay bar took off the sap, but the pits in the clear were too deep to buff, so we wound up blocking and re-clearing the whole roof. Anybody else seeing more of these tree-damaged hoods lately, or is it just my part of town?
